Non-Smoking Policy
In keeping with the increasing national and international restrictions on smoking in public spaces, Crystal Cruises is designating more areas of our ships as smoke-free. Effective with our first cruises in 2013, v3201 and v3301, smoking will be prohibited in the Avenue Saloon and the Crystal Casino.
Today, most areas of the ships are non-smoking, including The Bistro, inside the Lido Café, Palm Court, Stardust (Crystal Serenity), Starlight (Crystal Symphony), the Crystal Dining Room, Prego, Silk Road and The Sushi Bar restaurants, and the Galaxy Lounge. There are designated smoking and non-smoking tables in some bars and lounges. While smoking is allowed inside staterooms and suites, smoking is not allowed on verandahs of all staterooms and suites aboard both Crystal Symphony and Crystal Serenity. Pipes and cigars are permitted only in the Connoisseur Club, and on the "open decks," except all areas of Lido Deck (deck 11 on Crystal Symphony, and deck 12 on Crystal Serenity). Pipes and cigars may not be smoked in guest Penthouses, staterooms, on verandahs or in corridors.
Dress Code Policy
Beginning with voyage 3201, January 5 on Crystal Symphony and voyage 3306, March 31 on Crystal Serenity, new dress codes for evening dining and other activities will be instituted. Based on valuable feedback from our guests and travel partners, we have updated the recommended dress codes to reflect the continually evolving, more relaxed dress codes reflected throughout the world today.
Recommended Attire
During the day, casual wear is appropriate in any onboard lounge and dining venue. This includes resort-style attire, shorts and jeans. After 6:00 p.m., shorts and baseball caps are not permitted for men or women. For all venues on board, the recommended evening attire is one of the following:
Resort Casual: Slacks and a sweater or shirt for men; casual dress, skirt or slacks with a sweater or blouse for women. Ties and jackets are not required.
Elegant Casual (Informal): Suit or slacks with a jacket over a sweater or shirt for men. Ties are optional. Cocktail dress, skirt or slacks with a sweater or blouse for women. Jeans are not appropriate.
Black Tie (Formal) Optional: While Elegant Casual is always appropriate in the evening, a Black Tie Optional evening offers a celebratory opportunity to dress more formally on a special evening(s). For men, this includes a dark suit with tie or tuxedo; for women, this includes a formal cocktail dress, evening gown or dressy evening separates. On Black Tie Optional evenings, we request that jeans not be worn in any dining venues or lounges, including the Casino.
With this new policy, your guests can expect the following:
7- to 10-day cruises: 1 Black Tie Optional evening
11- to 13-day cruises: 2 Black Tie Optional evenings
World Cruises, Holiday voyages and crossings may be scheduled differently.
For your convenience, the recommended dress code for each evening of your cruise is listed in the daily itinerary section of the Priority Check-in & Planning Center (PCPC).
